Editorial policy
Grand County Review aims to make place and geography easier to understand without overstating what the available information can establish. We value clear explanations, careful distinctions and visible accountability when something needs correcting.
Accuracy and clarity
We check factual statements against dependable material appropriate to the subject and keep interpretation distinct from established detail. Where a claim is uncertain or a map, name or boundary has limits, we say so. We use plain language and explain terms that may not be familiar to general readers.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial choices are made for reader interest and relevance, not to serve a partner. Any paid, sponsored or partner-supported material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from editorial work. A partnership does not guarantee coverage or determine an editorial conclusion.
Corrections
If you believe an article contains an error, contact us with the article title and the detail in question. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted, making the change clear where appropriate.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence. Illustrations are not evidence for factual claims; captions or nearby wording identify generated imagery where relevant.
A map is a beginning, not the whole story
We look beyond lines and labels to notice how land and human choices give places their character. Every explanation aims to distinguish what a map shows from what it cannot tell us.
